Moi’s Bridge to Host Key Stakeholders’ Meeting on Market Revamp

A major stakeholders’ meeting is scheduled to take place this Friday at the Town Manager's Grounds in Moi’s Bridge, bringing together key players to chart a sustainable and long-term solution for the Moi’s Bridge market.

The meeting, convened by Moi’s Bridge Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Patrick Kimeli, will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to draw a wide range of participants from both the public and private sectors.

Among those invited are local and visiting traders, members of the business community, local chiefs, the Chairman of the Pastors Fellowship, officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the Chief Officer for Trade, County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale, and other interested stakeholders.

According to Hon. Kimeli, the meeting aims to foster open dialogue around the challenges facing the Moi’s Bridge market, including infrastructure, congestion, regulation, and coordination between traders and authorities.

“This market is not only the backbone of our local economy but also a critical link for traders across county lines. We need to have a collective conversation and agree on practical steps toward a better, more organized, and more efficient market space,” said Kimeli in a statement.

The market has over the years experienced growing pressure due to increased trade activity, poor planning, and infrastructural limitations. The upcoming meeting is seen as a significant step toward unlocking its full potential.

Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the move, expressing hope that the dialogue will lead to actionable outcomes that benefit both the business community and the general public.
