Starehe Member of Parliament Hon Amos Mwago Maina has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to inclusive development and economic empowerment, following the successful disbursement of empowerment cheques to organized groups across the constituency.
In a vibrant event marked by optimism and community spirit, Hon Mwago officiated the issuance of funds targeting women, youth, and persons living with disabilities. The initiative aims to support income-generating projects, enhance self-reliance, and uplift vulnerable groups through structured financial aid.
“These funds are more than just monetary support. They are a symbol of our collective determination to build a constituency where every resident, regardless of background or ability, has a fair shot at success,” said Hon Mwago during the ceremony.
The cheques issued are part of a broader empowerment strategy supported by the Uwezo Fund, the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, and other government and development partners. According to the MP, these funds will boost group ventures across various sectors, helping to transform lives at the grassroots level.
Hon Mwago also took the opportunity to laud the recipient groups for their dedication and commitment to change, noting that their visions and projects are aligned with the goal of building a resilient and economically vibrant Starehe.
“We are not just stopping here. We are working on expanding these programs to reach more groups and increase their impact. In addition to funding, we are looking into providing training, mentorship, and market linkages to ensure long-term sustainability,” he added.
The MP’s efforts come at a time when there is increased national focus on supporting community-driven development and addressing socio-economic disparities. His approach in Starehe continues to attract praise for being people-centered and responsive to the real needs of constituents.
As he concluded his address, Hon Mwago assured residents that more resources and opportunities are on the way, emphasizing unity, purpose, and progress for all.
“Let us stay focused, united, and committed to a better future. Together, we can build a stronger, empowered Starehe,” he said.
