Governor Cecily Mbarire Engages KURA Boss on Urban Road Infrastructure in Embu

Her Excellency Cecily Mbarire, the Governor of Embu County, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Engineer Silas Kinoti, in Nairobi. The meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration between the county government and KURA to improve the state of urban road infrastructure across Embu.
Accompanied by Mbeti North MCA Hon Peter Muriithi, the Governor engaged in detailed discussions with the KURA leadership regarding the status of road development in Embu, particularly in urban and peri-urban areas. The leaders acknowledged the critical role roads play in economic development and access to essential services, and emphasized the need for a well-coordinated approach in upgrading the current network.
Governor Mbarire lauded KURA’s ongoing projects in Embu and emphasized her administration’s commitment to working closely with the authority to deliver lasting solutions to road connectivity challenges in the county. She expressed optimism that enhanced cooperation would result in expedited project delivery and better quality roads for residents.
Engineer Silas Kinoti, in his remarks, reaffirmed KURA’s dedication to supporting counties through sustainable road infrastructure development. He noted that the agency is working to ensure seamless integration of urban road plans with county development priorities. Kinoti further assured the Governor of KURA’s technical support, promising a proactive engagement with Embu County to align future road projects with the growing demands of the urban population.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing on the urgent need for resource mobilization, timely implementation of projects, and stakeholder involvement at all levels to ensure transparency and impact.
