Addressing residents during the Kanduyi Constituency Women Empowerment Forum held at the Bungoma Posta Grounds, Governor Lusaka asserted that President Ruto remains the strongest contender heading into the next election cycle.
“President Ruto will defeat the opposition in 2027. What we are seeing from the opposition is disjointed and lacks a clear vision that can sway Kenyans to abandon the current trajectory,” Lusaka stated.
The Governor underscored the need for political unity in the Western region, urging voters to adopt a unified approach at the ballot to strengthen their bargaining power within government.
“If we are to truly benefit from being part of government, we must consolidate our votes. Scattered support only undermines our influence at the national level,” he emphasized, in what appeared to be a call for regional political consolidation.
The forum brought together key national figures, including Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Dr. Moses Wetang’ula, and State House operative Farouk Kibet, among others.
In line with the day’s empowerment theme, Governor Lusaka and fellow leaders pledged financial support to over 200 women’s groups from the constituency, reaffirming Bungoma’s commitment to inclusive growth.
“When you empower a woman, you empower an entire community. These forums are about dignity, opportunity, and lifting families out of poverty — not just handouts,” Lusaka said.
He further commended national government initiatives aimed at enhancing women's economic participation, and assured residents that his administration would continue supporting women-led businesses across the county.
The event not only spotlighted the county’s grassroots development agenda but also served as a political rallying point as the region begins to align itself ahead of the 2027 general election.
